Disney Developing ‘Cruella’ Live-Action Film
With live-action remakes of Disney classics Cinderella and Maleficent already under way…why not add a third female-led film to the live-action mix? Disney is looking to do just that with the upcoming project, Cruella, which will bring a new take to the infamous enemy of all spotted dogs everywhere, Cruella De Vil. Disney is developing a movie for the 101 Dalmatians villain that may feature the writer of The Devil Wears Prada, Aline Brosh McKenna, which some would say features a loosely inspired Creulla-ish Meryl Streep as the baddie, as The Hollywood Reporter is claiming.
It’s not yet known how the story will unfold, or who will play the part, which has previously been filled by Glenn Close as recently as 1996. Andrew Gunn is in talks to produce the film, which could grace theaters sometime after the previous two live-action classic remakes are released.
Who would you cast as Cruella in a live-action remake? Does it not seem like Angelina Jolie would be perfect for all of these villain roles?
