Show Description
The experiences of teenager Sonny Munroe, as portrayed by Demi Lovato, is the centerpiece of the Disney Channel comedy series, Sonny With a Chance. The show uses the unique format of having a "show-within-a-show", the "inside" show being a comedy/sketch/musical variety program called "So Random!"
Sonny's dream is to become a cast member of So Random!, her favorite show, and the premise of the series, at it's core, is the familiar "following your dreams" scenario. Each episode presents a situation in which a character attempts to overcome obstacles in attaining their "dream", and is quite often very inspirational.
Sonny With a Chance debuted in February, 2009 and the producers announced in November, 2010 that the series had been renewed for a third season. It was also announced that more of the focus of the series would shift to the So Random! segment.
