Anaganaga O Dheerudu (Once Upon a Warrior) is a Walt Disney Pictures co-produced film involving a nine-year old Indian girl who possesses special healing powers. This visually stunning film captures the beauty and mystery of India as perfectly as any recent attempt.
Moksha, the gifted child, is sent to a village plagued by an unknown disease which has decimated the local population. With her bodyguard, a blind swordsman, the pair encounter grateful acceptance as well as
a group of ill-intentioned locals who plot to kidnap Moksha and force her to do their evil bidding. According to legend a drop of blood from the special child gives immortality, giving the adventure an added atmosphere of fantasy and suspense.
Filmed in India and Turkey, Anaganaga O Dheerudu isn't Disney's first foray into international production, but is their most extensive venture targeted primarily for non-American audiences.
The film features a soundtrack scored by the Indian brother duo of Salim-Sulaiman, noted composers of the official anthem of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
