Trying to deal with the delicate balance of friendship is the focus of the Disney Channel Original Movie, Frenemies. Directed by Daisy Meyer, who received acclaim for her work in the chair for AMC's Mad Men, Frenemies was shot entirely on location in Toronto.
Centering on three different relationships, Frenemies extols the virtues of friendship and learning to adapt to differences between people, most notably the unavoidable ups-and-downs every relationship encounters. Two best friends who face a dilemma when their fashion blog is turned into a national magazine; a science-geek who meets and falls for a project partner, only to discover his "best friend," (his dog) finds the girl not to his liking; and two best friends who could pass for twins, deciding to "switch" lives, and the complications that arise.
Frenemies features a cast that will be familiar to Disney viewers, including Bella Thorne, Zendaya, Stefanie Scott and Nick Robinson. Premiered on the Disney Channel on January 13, 2012.
