Jungle 2 Jungle is a 1997 comedy remake by Walt Disney Pictures of a 1994 French film, Little Indian, Big City. Director John Pasquin got his start in television sitcoms, including Home Improvement, where he and Tim Allen (star of Jungle 2 Jungle) became friends.
Separated from his wife for over a decade, and wanting to re-marry, commodities broker Allen travels to Venezuela to finalize divorce proceedings with his ex-wife, played by JoBeth Williams. Upon arrival, he discovers that he has a 13-year old son that he never knew about. Returning with his new-found son, the boy, raised in the jungle, obviously has adjustment issues. Although everyone involved tries hard to transition the newcomer, the boy eventually gives up and returns to the jungle.
Jungle 2 Jungle has an interesting premise, but the chemistry never fully meshes despite a talented cast that includes (in addition to Allen) Martin Short, Lolita Davidovich and David Ogden Stiers.
