Movie Description

Based on the novel, The Biography of a Grizzly by Ernest Thompson Seton, the 1970 Walt Disney Production, King of the Grizzlies, takes place at the very end of the Old West era and documents the story of Moh-Sum-See Wahb, a grizzly bear with a distinctive track print.

Growing up, the grizzly has a near idyllic existence with his mother and twin sister. The film follows him as he learns to hunt, and even makes friends with a few other deep woods animals. However, tragedy strikes when his mother and twin are killed by The Colonel, an opportunistic local rancher. Moki, the Colonel's foreman, a Native American, leads the grizzly deeper into the woods to safety.

Years pass and the once timid grizzly cub matures into "the King of the Grizzlies." He returns to the region where he was raised, intent on getting revenge for the deaths of his family.

Veteran Disney director and narrator Winston Hibler provides voice-over in his typical easy-going manner.
