Movie Description
Walt Disney Pictures animated feature film The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea is the sequel to the popular Disney production of The Little Mermaid.
Born at sea, Melody is presented with a magic locket by her grandfather, King Triton. However, fearing the evil agenda of Morgana, whose objective is to obtain Triton's all-powerful trident, Melody's parents, not wanting to involve their daughter, decide to toss the locket into the sea, hopefully staving off the danger. Years later, Melody, despite being forbidden to enter the ocean, falls victim to curiosity and begins to explore the waters. Quite accidentally, she discovers the locket and seeing her name on it, confronts her mother and, not content with her mother's evasiveness, sets off on her own and sails away.
Now pursued by the evil Morgana and her underwater henchmen, Melody is captured and transformed into a mermaid and given instructions to locate the much-desired trident for Morgana.
Return to the Sea features a notable cast of voice performers, including Tara Charendoff, Jodi Benson, Pat Carroll, Kenneth Mars, Buddy Hackett, Rene Auberjonois and Edie McClurg.
