Returning to the big screen after a twelve-year absence, Walt Disney Pictures 2011 production of The Muppets, brings back those lovable characters audiences grew up with.
The Muppets have grown up and gone their separate ways, but when oil is discovered beneath the Muppet Theater, leading an unscrupulous oil tycoon to make an attempt to demolish the building in order to drill for oil, the Muppets, (led naturally by Kermit the Frog) reunite to stage a telethon in hopes of saving the theater. Audiences will enjoy discovering what's become of their heroes during the interim, including Miss Piggy, who's now a fashion editor for Vogue Paris.
Celebrities galore appear in cameos, with some of the current notables being Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, Mickey Rooney, Dave Grohl, Neil Patrick Harris, Whoopi Goldberg and George Clooney.
Besides Kermit and Miss Piggy, all of the favorite Muppets return, including Gonzo, Fozzie Bear, Rowlf the Dog, Dr. Teeth, Clifford and Rizzo the Rat.
