Based on the same-titled popular children's book, Walt Disney Pictures production of Tuck Everlasting is an odd story which combines fantasy, coming-of-age, and adventure. Directed by Jay Russell, Tuck Everlasting has an impressive cast, led by Alexis Biedel and Jonathan Jackson as the two love-struck teenagers, and includes such notables as Oscar winners Ben Kingsley and Sissy Spacek, along with William Hurt, Amy Irving and Scott Bairstow.
15-year old Winnie (Biedel), fed up with the restrictions her upper-class family has imposed upon her, runs away into the forest only to meet Jessie (Jackson). Subsequently, Winnie is kidnapped by Jessie's brother, setting off a massive search for the girl. Winnie is astonished to learn that the Tuck family are beneficiaries of a magical water spring, which prevents all that drink from it to either age or suffer injury or sickness. Having fallen in love with Jessie, Winnie is faced with a dilemma when the Tuck family decides to relocate and invite the girl to join them. Winnie is also faced with the decision on whether or not to partake of the water from the magical spring.
