The production from Walt Disney's Animation Studios of Winnie the Pooh features previously unadapted stories from the A.A. Milne series of children's classics. This version is the fifth full-length Disney production related to Winnie the Pooh and the second from the Animation Studios.
The usual cast of familiar "Pooh" characters are present: Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Rabbit, Owl, Roo, Kanga and Eeyore. In addition, moviegoers will be introduced to some new characters. Two of them are friends of Rabbit, Marley the Alligator and Papa Heffelump. Gilbert Gottfried and Wayne Knight, respectively, provide the voices for these newcomers. Other veteran performers providing voices include Jim Cummings, Craig Ferguson, Max Burkholder and Bud Luckey. John Cleese provides narration.
Advance screening has been limited, although reportedly one scene involves Eeyore losing his tail and the adventures of the crew in attempting to find a suitable replacement. The search for a mysterious creature called the "Backson" is featured in another segment.
