Adapted from the Disney Channel's Zenon television series, Zenon: Z3 is the most recent installment of the popular "tweener" Disney original production. Z3 is directed by Steve Rash, notable for his earlier directorship of 1978's Buddy Holly Story and the 1981 cult classic, Under the Rainbow.
The year is 2054, the setting is the Moon, and the heroine, Zenon Kar (Kirsten Storms) is competing to win the Galactic Teen Supreme contest. Amid the competition, Zenon meets Sage Borealis (Ben Easter), a Moon preservationist who needs Zenon's assistance in his quest to prevent the lunar landscape from being commercially exploited. To add further adventure and intrigue to the storyline, the Moon Goddess Selena is threatening to destroy Earth, apparently in retaliation for the Moon being taken over by earthly pursuits.
With the help of Zenon and Sage's friends, world crisis and calamity is averted, Selena pacified, and everyone returns to Earth.
